For this project we were to go through the alphabet and create a few letters each week of the semester based on a central theme and post them one by one on Instagram. At the beginning of the project I had a completely different theme using an existing font and creating illustrations around it, but I ended up creating my own typeface in order to use it for my personal branding.

 

I wanted this typeface to reflect a bit of my own personal style, which is heavily influenced by rock/vintage gig posters in a more refined, fun version. When I think of typefaces associated with rock I first go to Blackletter, which is what my typeface is based off of. To make it more "me," I took the elements of Blackletter typefaces I was the most drawn to and reinterpreted them into a more modern and upbeat version.
